ABOUT THE PATRIOT CHEER PROGRAM
A volunteer-run program designed to challenge homeschool athletes to grow in their spiritual walk, self-discipline, leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Also, develops a camaraderie among teammates and a love for the sport. We strive to share the love of Christ with others.
 
TRYOUTS FOR 2025-26
Tryouts will be held in April. Registration is required to attend tryouts. This places you on a TRY-OUT roster for the season. This allows you to see the tentative schedule and for communication.

Competition Tryouts will be in April next year, and registration will begin on March 1st.

Basketball Sideline Tryouts will be in July, and registration will begin on June 1st. 
OPEN GYM: July 17th and 21st, 6pm - 8pm
CLINIC: July 22nd and 24th, 6pm - 8pm
TRYOUTS: July 25th, 6pm - 8pm

BASKETBALL SIDELINE SQUAD ONLY
In mid-August, we start practicing on sideline cheer preparation. Practices are currently on Tuesdays. In November, we shift our focus to sideline cheering for Patriots Basketball with around 3 to 4 games per week. Basketball season runs from November to February, typically. 

FOOTBALL SIDELINE SQUAD ONLY
In June, we start practicing on sideline cheer preparation. Practices will be once per week, with games starting in August. We have 3 to 4 home games during the season on Fridays until Mid-October.

COMPETITION SQUAD
Athletes must try out in spring to participate with our Competition Squad. Practice will begin weekly in April. We practice regularly throughout the summer on Mondays, Thursdays, and some Saturdays. We participate in several cheer competitions in the fall and winter that require some traveling. Mandatory Choreography Camp: May 21st to May 23rd.

​COST AND TIME COMMITMENT
Cheer is an expensive sport. Costs range from approximately $300 to $1200 depending on if a new uniform is required and if you are on the competition cheer squad. We fundraise as a team and request sponsorships to offset the cost per athlete. Volunteering is required by parents with fundraising activities such as dances and basketball games. The team fee is not due at registration. The team fee is non-refundable.

AGE BRACKET
Rising 9th - 12th grade girls. You must still be 18 years old by August 1st during your Senior year. 
(8th graders may be considered depending upon skill and roster of both middle and high school teams.)

REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR SIDELINE BASKETBALL ONLY. To register for tryouts, please click on the blue registration button. You will be redirected to our Teamsnap website to complete all athletic forms and waivers required to participate with CSTHEA Patriots. Please allow at least 15 minutes to complete the registration. Registration places you on a Try-out Roster.
